A Las Vegas Mayoral Candidate Is Promoting Gigantic Ideas — Like ‘Fraternity’ — in a Hyperlocal Race. Which He Acknowledges Is About Hyperlocal Issues.

Michael Pacino also has an ‘endorsement’ page with a long list of names but zero endorsements for him. Early voting starts Saturday.

He may not want to be a godfather, either. However, another man regarded by the first and last names of “Michael” and “Pacino” is seeking political power, as Vito Corleone wanted his son Michael (Al Pacino) to do. (And clearly, Michael Pacino seems to be a man.)

It seems clear that Pacino’s website can be found through the link immediately below.

A banner along the bottom of the site says “FAMILY FAITH FRATERNITY.” How do those ideas have much to do with hyperlocal issues? Issues like, as he says, “Public safety,” “Infrastructure,” “Housing solutions,” “Economic vitality” and “Community activation?”

And “fraternity?”

That’s one word you don’t see very much in campaigns. Let alone campaigns in nonpartisan elections like this one.
