I’m a transgender woman

One impact of an anti-transgender executive order from U.S. President Donald Trump is federal agency managers turning off email settings asking for pronouns. As a trans woman, I know an extremely easy way to bring joy to someone. Simply refer to an individual born with a dick as a girl.

That certainly includes using she/her pronouns for trans women.

Perhaps Trump, members of his staff and others who follow him are not interested in bringing even joy to folks, though. Even though it would indeed be extremely easy. (And perhaps far-right people, from Trump on down, are interested in bringing the opposite to individuals.)

Even though I’m a writer, it’s difficult for me to describe the joy when people refer to me in the correct pronouns, call me “girl,” etc. Warmth and light fills my heart. And soul. Gratefulness and a complete reception of graciousness and gratitude are in my breasts. These…
