Disneyland deserves to have more than plenty of good things said about it. But the Los Angeles area is more than that park! And, it’s more than theme parks! The area is full of worth-visiting locations that include beaches, movie theatres and other offerings.

Thirty-six are listed below (almost entirely town by town).

Downtown Los Angeles (“DTLA”)

  • Skyscraper-seeing: I estimate that 14 buildings in DTLA are at least as tall as two in my hometown, Salt Lake City.
  • Regal LA Live: Go while a film festival is there!
  • Rooftop Cinema Club DTLA: You can see films outside, indeed on a roof, among skyscrapers.
  • A Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James game at Crypto.com Arena, along with looking at the statues out front — including a new Kobe Bryant effigy.
