When Neovagina Surgery Didn’t Work Out for a 4th Time, There Were 2 Reasons Why. One Was a Dilator. Here’s the Other

While I was in a pre-operative holding area for neovagina surgery, shockingly, the surgery was cancelled. I upheaved my life, including moving to another state, 23.5 months ago to get gender-affirming care. As it turns out, I couldn’t have gotten the surgery because I wasn’t given a dilator I paid for in time. However, the individual who made the cancellation — who, I as I pointed out to her, didn’t get my side — didn’t know that.

The nurse who actually was assigned to me didn’t make the recommendation to cancel the surgery. Nor did anyone involved in my other care that day. Some other staff member did.

Did a right-wing staff member?

Whatever the staff member’s politics, it seems clear they seized on me being difficult by making the recommendation that March 2024 morning. Did I stand up for myself when a nurse, including my own, misgendered me? When they knew I was there to get a neovagina?
